50% Wool - 50% Acrylic

Lana is a heavy weight wool blend embroidery thread, ideal for creating designs which are soft, fluffy or textured, such as animal fur. Strong enough for high speed machines and made for decorative machine embroidery and quilting. Stitching with Lana produces larger stitches and the voluminous thread reduces the number of stitches to cover the design. 

Because Lana is a thicker thread it does require a larger needle than traditional machine embroidery threads. Try the MADEIRA Lana wool needle size 110/18 needles. Always use MADEIRA Bobbinfil as your preferred bobbin thread.

The perfect weight embroidery thread with a matt natural finish just perfect for large embroidery designs. Quilters love this natural fibre of very high tensile strength for piecing and machine quilting. Ideal for increasingly popular machine cross stitch and hardanger, strong enough for fringe and performs very well for couching, tassels and lace.

For best results we recommend the use of the MADEIRA universal embroidery needle #75/11 and the fine MADEIRA underthread Bobbinfil No. 80.
